Jamie Olson Workman, Ph.D. I am a clinical psychologist who provides outpatient therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and adults. I am presently conducting primarily telehealth visits. I have an eclectic theoretical orientation based strongly in cognitive behavioral theory. Overall, I emphasize research-based techniques with flexibility related to each client’s presenting difficulties. My therapeutic focus addresses multiple concerns including but not limited to anxiety, depression, adjustment problems, attention problems, relationship difficulties, and divorce and co-parenting. Over the years, I have gained a great deal of experience working with parents to manage their own stressors and parent as effectively as possible. I use a client-focused framework and strive to help each client achieve their personal goals and make progress in the areas that are most important to them.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. During graduate school, I conducted research focusing on individuals’ thought processes related to anxiety. My dissertation examined child social anxiety and the importance of parental behaviors and teacher-child relationships. Through my education and practical experience, I have had the opportunity to work with people suffering from varied diagnoses and severity. The majority of my experience has been in a general outpatient setting conducting therapy and testing with adults and children. Presently, I am not conducting evaluations.

I am a licensed Psychologist accredited by the North Carolina Psychology Board and the Virginia Psychology Board. I am also a member of PSYPACT, which enables me to virtually see clients from the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
